This site is deliberately simple. It sets no cookies, runs no analytics or tracking, and loads nothing from other companies’ servers: its fonts, scripts and images all come from this domain.

Hosting and server logs
This site is hosted by Cloudflare, Inc. (USA), which processes data on my behalf. When you open a page, your browser sends technical data that the host’s servers log automatically: your IP address, the date and time, the page requested, your browser’s user agent and the referring page.
This is needed to deliver the site and keep it secure, which is my legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). The transfer to the USA is covered by the EU-US Data Privacy Framework (Art. 45 GDPR). Cloudflare decides how long it keeps these logs and publishes no fixed deletion period. I do not combine them with any other data.
Cloudflare also uses a small, pseudonymised sample of this traffic data on its own responsibility, to protect its network; see Cloudflare’s privacy policy. The site itself sets no cookies. Only if Cloudflare’s security systems have to check a request, for example during an attack, may they set a short-lived security cookie (cf_clearance) that is needed for that check.
If you email me
If you write to hello@denisulmer.dev, I receive your email address and whatever you write. I use it only to reply to you (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR, steps before a possible contract, or Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). My mailbox is hosted by Proton AG in Switzerland, a country the EU recognises as having adequate data protection. I delete the conversation once it is over, unless you ask me to stay in touch.
Stored in your browser
If you pause or resume the motion on the page, your browser remembers that choice in its local storage under the key motion. It holds only the word “paused” or “playing”, identifies no one, and you can clear it at any time in your browser settings.
Your rights
You have the right to access your data, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict its processing and to receive it in a portable format (Art. 15 to 20 GDPR). To use any of these rights, email hello@denisulmer.dev.
Right to object. Where processing is based on legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR), you can object to it at any time on grounds relating to your particular situation (Art. 21 GDPR).
You can also complain to a data protection authority. The one responsible for this site is the State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information Baden-Württemberg (LfDI Baden-Württemberg), www.baden-wuerttemberg.datenschutz.de.
You don’t have to provide any personal data; the site works without it. There is no automated decision-making or profiling.
